The Alpha Virtual Course via Zoom App Starts Thursday Sept 9th, 2021 7PM
The Alpha Course is a 11-session practical introduction to the Christian faith. It addresses foundational questions while providing guests with an opportunity to explore the meaning of life. People can come to relax, and talk about “real life stories.” It is for everyone interested in discovering what Christianity is about.
The Alpha Course has been running for over 26 years. It began at Holy Trinity Brompton Church in Central London, U.K. Initially Alpha was a means of presenting the basic principles of the Christian faith to new Christians in a relaxed and informal setting. Small groups meet for 1 hour a week over eleven weeks hosted by a leader/facilitator.
The Alpha Course grew during the 1990’s, initially in the U.K. and then internationally, as more churches, and groups found it a helpful way to answer questions in an informal setting. Some of the questions the Alpha Course discusses are:
- Who is Jesus?
- Why Did Jesus Die?
- Why and How Should I Read the Bible?
- Who is The Holy Spirit?
- How Does God Guide Us?
- Does God Heal Today?
There are now 60,500 Alpha Courses worldwide in 169 nations, and it is supported by all major denominational and non-denominational churches.
